ED 603 Thesis, Project, or Field Study

This course is an independent study course helping the student to work through the thesis/project process with the goal of completing all necessary exit requirements for the Master’s Degree. As stated in the Western Oregon University Graduate Handbook: “An important purpose of a final thesis or professional project is to introduce you to original research under the supervision of a graduate faculty member. The primary value of a final thesis is that instead of studying a series of minor and highly-specified topics, you are obligated to examine a sizeable topic for a greater period of time while clearly learning to define both the very nature of a question and its relevant research findings. By the time a final thesis is completed, you can claim to have mastered a specific aspect of knowledge and accrued a deeper awareness concerning the processes of research.”
